If you're ready to ride a motorcycle in Florida, here’s what you need to know to add a motorcycle endorsement to your driver license.
Requirements for a Motorcycle Endorsement
To obtain a motorcycle endorsement in Florida, you must:
- Hold at least a valid Class E operator’s driver license
- Successfully complete a Basic RiderCourse (BRC) or Basic RiderCourse updated (BRC) through an authorized sponsor

Important Deadline
After completing the course, you must obtain your motorcycle endorsement within one (1) year.
If the endorsement is not added within one year, your course completion card and “PASS” waiver status will expire, and you will be required to retake the RiderCourse before the endorsement can be issued.
